Daybreak: Sessions
03-Oct-2009: Superstition An introductory session, introducing the players to the Daybreak world. Achaiah Hired by a New Yorker named Chet at Golden Dawn Publishing to tend bar at a party/rave(?) for a woman named, Aphra Trithemius, Achaiah furthered the Word of Greed as much as she did Drugs; gouging her clients and demanding a bar stocked with more than most bars call for. Summoned to tend over a small meeting, she was privy to a conversation between Aphra (who claims to be a sorceress) and Detroit "psychic" radio personality, Jas Stephens (who was there with her producer--whom Achaiah knew as the demon Meshail). During the conversation a proper noun snuck into the conversation that rang a faint, if unknown bell. The word was something like "Karzikin." Achaiah didn't think much of it and walked away from the party with a little over four grand. A few days later, a frizzy-haired and large-jowled man entered the El-Capri Lounge. The demon eyed the visitor through her Shades of Addiction artifact and, to the Habbalite's suprise, the stranger was addicted to a drug that Achaiah had only heard whispered rumors of--a drug intended for celestials called "Chimera." Unfortunately, Achaiah lost the drug user in the downtown throngs. A later discussion with Sam, the Seneschal of Kerchival Korner Store, revealed that the Balseraph had no access to this mythical drug. He wasn't sure if it even existed. Achaiah is now on the hunt for the user or, even better, the drug itself. Deyinara Deyinara was contacted by Chet at Golden Dawn Publishing to DJ an event for a woman named Aphra Trithemius. In the midst of a night of loud music, the Calabite Servitor of Hardcore was contacted by her superior officer, Wrenchial, Demon of Amps and Baron of Hardcore. He asked for a mix tape. Later conversation with the fellow Destroyer revealed that that the Baron has a plan to underlay Songs and suggestions to the tracks given to him by Deyinara, with the intent of raising some serious blood pressure in the human populous. This will be a tricky operation to pull off--especially in order to avoid any angelic entanglements. Wrenchial informed Deyinara that it would take a while to properly enchant the mix and gave her instructions to keep an ear out for a party/event that would be an optimal to play the updated music, with the note that this trick would only work once. When Deyinara believes she has the perfect time and place to send people into full-on Hardcore mode, she is to contact Wrenchial to retrieve the updated music. Meshail Noting that the prominent and "powerful sorceress" Aphra Trithemius was moving to Detroit, Meshail contacted Aphra's publisher, Golden Dawn Publishing, and dealt with Chet, setting up a radio interview between the so-called sorceress and his servant, Jas Stevens. After speaking with Aphra directly, wheels were set into motion for the radio interview to proceed. The Habbalite and his servant were also invited to a large warehouse party, hosted by Aphra. During the party, Jas and Aphra had a private meeting, discussing the upcoming show. The Punisher thought he overheard something, but the details had passed before it registered. Later, during the interview proper, the niggling proper noun came up again. After some research and pondering, the Meshail recognized the word as "Krzkrk'N," but could not place its usage--especially not on the corporeal realm. It's a mystery where the name might lead, but Meshail is watching for it. Nithaul (not present in game) Nithaul and the members of the Jingo Hawks have begun establishing themselves in Detroit. Over the past week, they've set up shop in a previously abandoned garage on the west side of town. This puts them close to a Tether to Fire, but is still the best location to operate as a front for their other activities. Virdriv hopes that any Disturbances potentially caused by servitors of Belial will also help distract investigation from anything that might happen in the garage. Nithaul and team are still looking for a full range of contacts to work with in the city. Muddy has proposed holding a chili cook-off, with the idea of inviting any celestial players the servitors of The War might want to work with. But he's leaving the decision to the higher officers. Virdriv doesn't care either way, so the decision will rest in Nithaul's hands. October is in full swing and once November hits, the weather probably won't be as suitable for an outdoor gathering. |
